Health IT Year in Review #HITsm Tweetchat

2019 Health IT Year in Review

2019 Health IT Year in Review

Have you been away from the Health IT scene?

The healthcare scene is rapidly changing.

It is easy to fall out of the loop quickly.

If you are new to this part of healthcare, the learning curve can seem overwhelming, but it does not have to be that way.

There are many ways to get up to date with what is happening in healthcare.

My favorite way of getting caught up on healthcare news is by joining in on conversations called Tweetchats.

While it is always great to bring value to a conversation, much can be gained by observing human behavior.

As a life long introvert, watching these conversations was my first entry into social media for professional use.

What’s been happening in Health IT this year

If you would like to catch up with what has been happening in the Health IT world, take a look at this online conversation hosted by John Lynn, an influencer in Health IT marketing.

By way of reminder, please see the below video to learn more about Tweetchats.

The biggest surprise to me is how much big tech companies have gotten into healthcare in 2019. It's been a sea change. #HITsm

T2 Interoperability up close being still elusive. Some systems that I thought would make things better did not answer the call IMHO. #hitsm

T3: I'm particularly excited this year about remote patient monitoring. We have the companies, the legislation, the codes for reimbursement. I think it's going to be a real game changer moving forward actually. #HITsm

T3 @HolonSolutions They locked down some key patents and 2020 will be their year. @InterSystems#IRIS enhancements also pleased me. #hitsm

Just met a company @Invistics who started in supply chain, but has a pretty impressive machine learning effort to identify drug diversion. I think @amazon is going to really do big things in healthcare. I'm fascinated by @orbita_inc Love @imprivata's market position #HITsm

T4: Seems like a trap. I mean #hitsm is my obvious answer.

Too many to list. In my Twitter stream, 2019 was a breakout year for @GailZahtz @jeremycoleman @mshlcurrie @alanshoebridge @josieelias @RosenfeldSamara @RRobertseHealth @lenisocial @TheKingofData @blueskybutton to name a few. #HITsm

I've got a slight bias to @HITMarketingPR and @EXPOdotHealth Beyond that, #HIMSS19 is always fun. Can't wait for #HIMSS20 #HLTH2019 was better than expected. #MGMA19 was the best it's ever been. #SHSMD19 was a lot of fun with @LithoLarry as my wingman. #HITsm #HITMC

T5: Well....it's #HIMSS2020 time, and having been an #SME for 5 years, it was definitely the most fun, and the most people. Looking forward to attending #HITMC, I hear they have a great time, and it's a smaller venue, with much more 1:1. HIMSS always sends u home sick  #HITsm

Tweetchats, a way to get clients

As a digital native, I chose social media as my marketing tool of choice.

In fact, when I started my business, my first clients found me on Twitter and related Tweetchats.

A bit of life happened, business ADD and I have not been part of these online conversations, even though they have been productive in the past, resulting in a Las Vegas speaking engagement.

Yet just this month, I went back to what worked, and guess what?

I now have calls with TWO Chief Medical Officers who wish to work with me!

Here is a recent Tweetchat on the topic of online reputation management.

The conversation was hosted by industry influencers who are thought leaders in healthcare and attracted like minded participants.
